Tuition Waiver Fund

In Nigeria, the situation regarding children and youths out of school remains a significant concern. According to the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Nigeria has one of the highest rates of out-of-school children globally, with an estimated 10.5 million children aged 5-14 years not attending school. Additionally, the COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated this issue, with disruptions to education exacerbating existing inequalities and leaving many children and youths without access to learning opportunities. Efforts to address this challenge include government initiatives, non-profit interventions, and community-based programs aimed at increasing school enrollment, improving educational infrastructure, and providing alternative learning opportunities for marginalized populations. However, despite these efforts, significant barriers such as poverty, insecurity, cultural norms, and inadequate access to quality education persist, highlighting the urgent need for sustained and coordinated action to ensure that every child and youth in Nigeria has access to quality education and the opportunity to reach their full potential.

The Tuition Waiver Fund was created to solve one goal, which is to provide financial support for children and youths from low-income homes who can not afford to pay their tuition fees. To Support Young Kids Foundation also provided funds to send children and youths who have dropped out of school and on the streets to go back to school and study without fear of tuition
