Kwéchiri Girls Means “No Gree for Anybody, Girls.”
Kwéchiri Girls was launched to encourage and train girls to get all the necessary skills to thrive in the digital world.
In Nigeria, gender inequality persists as a significant barrier to the advancement of girls, especially in STEM fields. According to UNESCO, only 22% of science researchers in Nigeria are women, reflecting a stark gender disparity in STEM participation and representation. Stereotypes, cultural norms, and limited access to educational resources further exacerbate the challenges faced by girls, hindering their opportunities for academic and professional success in STEM.
To Support Young Kids Foundation seeks to address gender inequality and empower girls to excel in STEM fields in Nigeria. Recognizing the importance of representation and access, we provide targeted programs, mentorship opportunities, and resources to support girls’ interests and pursuits in STEM. By challenging stereotypes, advocating for inclusive policies, and expanding access to STEM education, we strive to create an enabling environment where girls can thrive and contribute to Nigeria’s scientific and technological advancement.
To bridge the gender gap in STEM fields and ensure equitable opportunities for girls in Nigeria. Through partnerships and collaborations, we aim to increase the participation and retention of girls in STEM education and careers, aligning with the vision for sustainable development and economic prosperity. By empowering girls with STEM skills and fostering a culture of inclusion, we seek to unlock their potential as future leaders, innovators, and change-makers in Nigeria's evolving landscape.
This initiative has a tangible impact on the quality of education for girls in Nigeria, particularly in STEM fields. By promoting gender equality and addressing systemic barriers, we enable more girls to access STEM education and pursue careers in these fields. As a result, we contribute to Nigeria's efforts to build a skilled workforce, drive innovation, and achieve sustainable development goals. Through our collective efforts, we empower girls to realize their aspirations, contribute to Nigeria's scientific and technological advancements, and shape a more inclusive and prosperous future for all.
